This room had many reincarnations. It was probably an open back porch when Arnold Folker built the house and from there you could enter either the house proper, or his office (which had its own entry door, but no door into the house). When the Schmitts moved in (1956) the laundry was here. Later, it became Eileen's sewing room. She'd put her radio on the classical music station and look out the windows at her yard with its seasonal changes of view and sew all kinds of things for her children and grandchildren. After her death, Francis used it as his coat closet and recycling center. |
